Ali Mills is a high school yoga teacher in Salt Lake City, Utah. Every semester during yoga philosophy when she teaches the chakra unit, she shares her “story” with her students as a preview to why she is teaching about the chakra system. Every year, students tell her she should write a book. And so, she did.
Ali grew up in Bountiful, Utah, with two amazing, loving parents, and one sister. She received her BA in French teaching and Health promotion in 2001 from Weber State University, and her MA in French literature from the University of Utah in 2006. She speaks French, spoke Italian for a summer, and loves the power of words to help us understand one another and increase our level of compassion, and decrease our levels of judgment.
Ali has taught in the fitness industry since 1999. She has taught everything from step aerobics, to spinning, kickboxing, weight lifting classes, and ballet barre. She is currently still teaching yoga (since it “saved her life”), and Pilates reformer. When she’s not teaching classes at the school, gym, or studio, she is probably doing handstands, hiking, reading, painting, or paddleboarding.
Ali loves the healing arts and is a certified foot-zoner. She works with many clients of varied backgrounds to help heal depression, anxiety, physical pain, and disease. If you ask her about any problem you are experiencing, she will probably ask you if you meditate. After reading her book, you just might.
